Directions to the Festival
The festival is located in the Volksgarten, a riverside park at the south bottom of the Kapuzinerberg, and it is in walking distance of the ancient part of the city Salzburg.
If you need or prefer other than walking, we strongly recommend using public transportation.
It is easier and more comfortable, because the bus hold is very close to the festival area and thus you do not have to worry about a parking space which can be fairly difficult in this area.

Winterfest-Ticket = Busticket
The Winterfest-Ticket is valid as Busticket in the Salzburger Verkehrsverbund for the trip to/from the Volksgarten on all Bus and railway lines in the central zone Salzburg 4 hours before the show until end of operations. You reach the Winterfest with Obus lines 6, 7 and 10, stop »Volksgarten«.
You have to take your Winterfest-Ticket with you at all time. A subsequent submission will not be accepted.
By Car
Take the exit Salzburg Nord (coming from the direction of Vienna and Germany) or exit Salzburg Süd (from direction Hallein/Graz).

Please note that there are only a limited number of parking spaces in the Volksgarten. During ice hockey plays in the Volksgarten Arena these parking spaces are not available. The parking in Volksgarten is liable to fees. At the cloakroom you get a reasonable parking ticket.
If you park at Mönchsberggarage (about 20 minutes to walk to the Volksgarten), you can get your parking ticket “pierced” at the cloakroom. You then pay € 4,- for up to 4 hours parking and € 6,- for up to 8 hours parking.
Hockey Games
If there are any hockey games at the stadium near the festival area at the same time it is not possible to park in the near surrounding. Please use the bus or train at the following days:
